#5 || Vision For Endurance ðŸ”
Hey! :)
I wanted to share a little bit more about my vision for entering into YWAM and into international missions long-term; not only for clarity for myself, but also for you who are partnering with me along this journey, so you can see the fulfilment and fruition of this vision! But before that, I want to give some context as to why this important:
Where there is no prophetic vision the people are discouraged,
but blessed is he who keeps the law.
Proverbs 29:18
The proverb itself warns that those who do not have prophetic vision become discouraged (in some translations, even perish), yet those who walk obedient to the Law will be blessed. Now, while this proverb was written to an audience nearly 2500 years ago, there is still much to apply to our lives nowadays; being without vision, we can become discouraged and even ‘perish’ in our walk with Christ. Or even if you are not a Christian, you can become discouraged from the overall purpose and direction of your life, conforming to a lesser extent of being and living.
Life throws its curveballs all the time, and we are wandering around aimlessly, being taken to and fro by everything that comes our way, is it any wonder that we get discouraged, lost or just downright broken?
Hence it is important, as human beings, to have direction and vision for our lives. If we have a vision, we can plan, adapt and walk accordingly to whatever happens in life, and still keep on track for what we have a vision for. So, just for the sake of argument, if you have a vision for wanting to open a business to bring local communities together, you start by writing out your vision statement and business statement.
Then, you can work back from there, right??
You write out your business plan, strategize, work for capital investment, plan your marketing approach, look at your target market audience and yada-yada-yada. But no matter what comes your way in setbacks, whether it be deals falling through, or competition from another business, you can work around and work through things that come up, because your overall vision still remains clear and in the forefront of your mind. Your vision might change through that journey; for the vision we have when we start out as a small business, might change dramatically when we decide to become an enterprise and broaden the horizons. We might even need to bring other people alongside what we are doing also.
The ability to hold vision through life’s ups and downs shows not only the character of a person but their conviction in what they believe in and believe for. Now that vision can be short-term or long-term, the timing is not so much the important thing, but rather simply having one can bring great clarity and direction to your life.
To see people and communities from all nations transformed through knowing God personally for themselves, and discipling Christians of all nations to be equipped for life, ministry and missions.
As I walk into this next season, I want to keep my vision clear and forefront of the calling that God has placed on my heart, such that in the trials and valleys I can continue to be encouraged. For I wish to see people, from all nations, be transformed by the knowledge of God. Then, they can not only seek that enjoyment within their own lives daily but even have the flow to bring that great news to others. Man, what a privilege and joy it is to know God. To have Him work intimately within our lives, if we allow Him too.
So here is my vision. My vision for the calling that God has placed onto my life. Despite the things that come my way, even in this season of fundraising and raising up partners, planning and such; my ultimate vision and goal is as above.
What about your own life then? Do you maybe have a vision that you want to put first and foremost? Or if you don’t, maybe it’s time to create one, or even dig one up that’s been buried for a while.
I hope there is something in here that can help you seek out vision for your own life and see what the LORD can do through that also!
